Cosmetic Camouflage with Air Brushing

Totally hides face and body imperfections, Tattoos and skin imperfections and scar tissue

Skin camouflage is a method to restore and hide the appearance of birth marks, scars and discolouring with simple but effective techniques. These techniques can be performed in the salon and also can be taught to you so you can hide unsightly marks and scars at home. Profiles can teach you how to do this and order the specialised cosmetics that you will need.

Skin camouflage was pioneered during the Second World War top help disguise the marks on badly burned pilots, by making use of early plastic surgery and camouflage creams. During the 1950’s the British Association of Skin Camouflage was formed, and later the British Red Cross were involved in setting up clinics and hospitals around the country.

Who needs camouflage? The reasons for needing camouflage are individual and vary from person to person; those seeking help include men, women and children. Some with congenital disorders may be born with the condition visually apparent, whilst others may be as diverse as scarring, skin conditions, acne, unwanted tattoo’s etc.

The psychological benefits of camouflage cannot be over emphasised. It is now an accepted fact that the mind and the body interact with each other; when we feel good about our selves, our attitude will be positive – enjoying social activities and feeling apart of the out side world. When we are not happy about our image, we can begin a downwards spiral by loosing confidence and self esteem – we become anxious and go to great lengths to avoid social situations. People with obvious scarring, congenital disorders (especially facial), without help can completely withdraw and become isolated from the community.

How long will the coverage last?Generally camouflage make up should last for the whole day without re touching. With a gentle application of camouflage cream preparations, uneven and skin tone blemishes can be covered and waterproofed. Camouflage creams can be used on every type of skin, even after daily or very intensive application; no skin irritations should occur

Removal of CamouflageCleansing creams and cleansing milks can easily be used to remove camouflage, and then proper skin toners and moisturisers should be applied to the skin after removal of the camouflage.
