MCA Scar Tissue and Stretch Mark Treatment Therapy
Permanent makeup and paramedical procedures often involve some type of scar. It’s important to realize that no scar can be removed completely. Patience is a virtue, scars that appear dark and unattractive may become less noticeable over a years time. Some physicians recommend a window of six months to two years before any type of remodeling is attempted on surgical scars. When in doubt always consult with your doctors office on their particular policy. MCA is an entirely natural way of getting your body’s own cell s to regenerate and reduce and eradicate scarring and wrinkles. Only a handful of practitioners offer MCA so is still classed s a more elite treatment.
Some clients / patients notice the difference after one treatment although others may require up to three treatments approximately one month apart. What is not known is how long the benefits will last. Following the treatment the patient / client is left with a fine to medium red lines, which looks like a scratch mark, which forms a fine crusting, which heals in approximately 5 – 7 days at the most. The treatment does not cause any permanent damage to the skin and the healing phase is short. It is virtually painless and can be repeated as often as necessary with little risk.
There are several ways to make scars less obvious and improve their appearance. Multitripannic Collagen Actuation or Dry Needling refers to a procedure where the effect of the healing process results in a visible change or scar remodeling. Plastic Surgeons Dr. Camirand and Dr. Des Fernandez have written articles on Dry Needling using the method since the late 1980’s to soften and stretch scars following face lifts with noted improvement in the scar and its colour.
The actual procedure is done with a machine using needles or hand tool with specific needle configurations according to the type of scar. Profiles use topical anesthesia for mild discomfort before abrading or pricking the scar tissue. As the needles penetrate the epidermis and part of the dermis they break down old collagen strands and create more collagen in the epidermis. Imagine thousands of tiny pin pricks. The skin is red with minimal bleeding and a short healing period between five to ten days. The process can be repeated if necessary when the epidermis is completely healed. The result in most cases is a smoother flat scar that is less noticeable and the return of pigment (color) to some of the lighter scars.
This service has helped burn patients to smooth uneven textures on their face and prepare them for the application of permanent eyebrows. An emergency gallbladder surgery left a client with abdominal scars she was uncomfortable with; Dry Needling has her back in a two piece suit and on the beach. A young woman who was hit by a car as a child survived the accident but has not worn short sleeves in years due to the thick banded scars her injuries left behind is making great progress. Dry needling is not for every client; always consult with your physician before choosing any method of treatment.
A test patch is required before any treatment can commence. Test patches carry an additional charge.
